Aesop Rose Hair & Scalp Masque Review

Aesop Rose Hair & Scalp Masque Review

Hi Lovelies!

I don't think I've ever mentioned hair-care on this blog, and it's simply because I neglect to really look after mine. I don't mind forking out big money for high-quality skincare but when it comes to the locks, I honestly don't treat them well.

So, when I stumbled across this Aesop hair mask, I was immediately intrigued. It retails for $35au, which is more than I would ever spend on a tube of hair treatment but I thought about it for over a month and finally decided to pick it up. Oh. My Gosh, it was the best decision I have ever made for my hair. I'm pretty sure my hair could write me a love letter for picking up this stuff. Here's why:

about aesop

Aesop have been around since 1987. They offer a wide range of skincare, haircare and body care related products all formulated with plant derivatives and the safest ingredients made from the labs. Aesop's design is undoubtedly sophisticated, and it's obvious when stepping into one of their stores that each product had been carefully placed on their space on the shelf. The aroma of the stores are incredible, too.

This tube is actually a lot bigger than I originally thought by looking at the item online- it probably has about 20 treatments in the tube, and it costs less than what you would spend to just get a haircut at your local salon. The only thing I didn't really like about this product is the smell - I was expecting a rose scent, however it smelt more like the natural hair dye. It wasn't unpleasant, however it was unexpected.

Water (Aqua), Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond ) Oil, Glycerin, Camellia Japonica Seed Oil, Stearamidopropyl Dimethylamine, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, C12-16 Alcohols, Cetearyl Alcohol, Stearalkonium Chloride, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil, Tocopherol, Phenoxyethanol, Citric Acid, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit ) Seed Extract, Rosa Damascena Flower Oil, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender ) Oil, Disodium EDTA, Daucus Carota Sativa (Carrot ) Root Extract, Beta-Carotene, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, Citronellol, Linalool, Geraniol, Eugenol. Contains nut oils.

Rose is always amazing for balancing and protecting, Almond oil is amazing for shine and nourishment while Grapefruit is amazing for increasing circulation to the scalp, resulting in hair growth and protection. This product contains nut oils, which is always amazing for your body, skin and hair. All in all, I'm super impressed with the selected ingredients and the quality of the ingredients are really evident in the results.

Restores vitality and shine, perfect for dry or coloured hair. Only need 2 tablespoons and half an hour to give your hair the nourishment it needs. Use once a week for moisturised, soft and healthy hair.

does it work?

I applied this product thoroughly through my hair and left it in for about forty minutes (or one episode of Game of Thrones, if we're being precise). When I washed it out, I was completely over the moon at how soft my hair was. No salon treatment had ever given me hair this incredible- and it will 100% replace them from now on. BUT, the most impressive part of this product was that the softness lasted 6 days straight. I didn't even have to wash my hair (I did, though). You get my point. It's a miracle masque.

If you're thinking of spoiling yourself and putting more effort into looking after your hair, this hair mask is definitely a wonderful place to start! Before you go, what's your holy grail hair product? xx
