I want to put something out there - something that the majority of bloggers and other social-media influencers would be able to empathise with. Don't get me wrong- I love this job (even if it's not my full-time one) as it gives me such incredible joy. However, I feel like there is something unsaid that needs to be said.
There is this constant question in our minds - To influence, or inspire? Do we want to persuade or give ideas? It's something I didn't understand the difference between for such a long time. So, with all of this confusion on how I should be writing my posts or taking my photos, I took a little break.
During my break, which lasted about two months, I realised something. People change. And in the short time since I started this blog, I had changed. I noticed my unhappiness was stemming through the pressure to stay with my current theme, aesthetic and passions. I realised that I liked blogging more about beauty and skincare than fashion and outfit-of-the-days. I realised I wanted to talk more about self love and creativity than how to pick out the perfect pair of shoes for the season (I'm still obsessed with shoes, though).
Although I love those things and they will absolutely feature on my blog from time to time, my preferences have changed and will most likely change again. The important thing to remember is that as long as you're reading this blog, I will be 100% myself and will only produce honest, high-quality content. It will never be at the expense of my happiness again. And it shouldn't be at the expense of yours, if you're in this industry!
I understand this post may be a bit random to some, but It's something I've wanted to talk about for a while. You do not have to conform and you do not have to pretend - follow only what you enjoy and never stray from your intuition. From now on when you come to my blog, prepare to come across posts on how to practice your creativity. Prepare to find the best cruelty-free skincare, the best glow-inducing makeup and basically anything else wonderful I can find to inspire you.
You have all given me such joy and reading your comments makes me happier than you could ever imagine. I've chosen to inspire rather than influence. And if I do influence- it would be to inspire.
