Dewy "No-makeup" Look ft ClearSponge ☆

// Aka - The Silicone Sponge Talk-through tutorial / review of ClearSponge Australia

The following opinions are entirely my own,  I was not paid to write this post,  however I was sent the product to give a go *

I was fortunate enough to be contacted by ClearSponge and told they would like to send me one of their silicone sponges to try. To be honest, I was delighted because I'd been eyeing their Instagram for about a week and was actually going to purchase one myself within the next few days.

Before ClearSponge, I'd honestly never heard of this beauty"revolution", and was quite intrigued and even a little weary to begin with.

The "sponge" itself is quite small, flat and strange-looking. However, when I used it for the first time I realised how convenient the size actually is. It allows you to get to the places beauty blenders don't really do a good job at (like under your eyes and the sides of your nose, for example).

On top of this, It's so much more hygienic as bacteria an germs don't hide in the spores like what occurs with beauty blenders (I've heard horror stories about them growing mould). Also, you only need 50% of the product you would usually use.

Primer, foundation and concealer go on like a dream. All you have to do is put a little bit of the product on the sponge, and work in circular motions across your face and target areas. The blending is nothing short of airbrushing as no product is absorbed into the sponge (meaning it's not patchy whatsoever) and the clean up afterwards is quick and easy.

I've had a few comments in the past from people on instagram asking me how I do my makeup, so I decided to share exactly what I do on an every-day basis. This look is simple and fast (like 10 mins maximum, guys) and a little goes a long way! If you need more coverage, you can always build it up.

I started first with the Too faced Hangover Primer mixed with Lush's "Feeling Younger" Skin Tint. After this had set on my face, I applied a light coat of Clinique's Anti-Blemish Solutions foundation in "Alebaster" as my concealer (I didn't put it all over my face, I just focused on problem areas). This foundation is the best I have ever tried, as it is medium to full coverage and contains antibacterial ingredients to combat the consequences of wearing foundation all day. I only put the tiniest amount on the sponge, and focused on one area at a time.

After this, I went in with the ClearSponge again to apply the Naked Skin Concealer under my eyes. Four my foundation (I used a powder foundation because it was close to 40 degrees in Brisbane) I used the Nude by Nature Mineral Foundation in "Medium". Finally for the base, I bronzed up my cheekbones lightly using the Too faced "Sun Bunny" Bronzer before highlighting my cheekbones with the shade "Pancake" from the Sportsgirl Eyeshadow Pallet featured in my last makeup tutorial post here.

I quickly brushed through my brows (I didn't fill them out or do anything to them) and used both shades from the Too faced "Sun Bunny" Bronzer, using the lighter shade as the transition and the bronzing shade in the crease. Finally, I applied Luma's Daring Curves Mascara and filled in my lips with W7's lip liner in "Champagne" (similar here). And there you have it! A super easy, light-weight and sweat-proof makeup look that will actually last all day.

Back to the subject of the silicone sponge; in all honestly this product is really, really cool and I would recommend this for any avid beauty lover. Please check them out if you like the idea of not spending a hundred dollars on foundation brushes when you can get something so affordable and so much better just by clicking here.
